The effects of Negative Ethnicity in Kenya

Tribalism is the least common denominator that Kenyan politicians use to divide the people especially during elections. This is a vice that we all must condemn.  Kenya was on the brink of civil war due to ethnic-based violence after the 2007 general elections . Here is a video by a Kenyan-based journalist on how he covered the violence. Caution: some pictures may be disturbing.

Kenya Burning

I posted this article and video in support of the initiative to fight tribalism in our nation under the umbrella of AmTribeless. We all need to support this course and agree that “Never again shall we engage in violence because of political differences.”

My prayer is that all Kenyans will look to God and know that we all are in Kenya according to His will and the present politicians have none of our interests at heart. They want to protect what they stole. Kenyans let us arise and love each other unconditionally. May God have mercy on us.

I am a Kenyan and I do not belong to any tribe and we have no tribes in Kenya. We are Kenyans.Period.

In as much as Kenyans maimed and killed thmselves, we cannot erase the fact that we are multi-tribe. Trying to evade the fact that am a Luo does not help erradicate tribalis. Am a Luo, he is Kikuyu, she is a Kalenjin, they are Turkanas, Digo, Borana, Luhya etc. Let’s embrace diversity and recognise it by appriciating each other with Godly love.

A plain fact is that we can never rule out our tribes-Kenya is a Multi-ethnic country and God knows why we have various tribes. for instance I am a Luo and am proud of it. Denouncing our tribe is not a solution-Instead we should shun negative ethnicity
